Russian attack on Moldova border crossing kills civilians, Ukraine says
Russian forces have attacked the Starokozache international border crossing in Ukraine’s Odesa Oblast on the border with Moldova, killing and injuring civilians, Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service says.
The overnight attack involved unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which struck the border crossing’s infrastructure and the surrounding area, causing fires.
"Russia attacked the Starokozache international road border crossing on the border with Moldova with UAVs at night. The drones hit the infrastructure of the border crossing and the surrounding area, causing fires. Sadly, there were casualties among civilians who were near the checkpoint."
The processing of people and vehicles at the crossing has been temporarily suspended, according to the Border Guard Service.
The Moldovan side has been informed of the situation.
