Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out strikes on nine populated areas in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, leaving nine people injured as a result of the shelling.
According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Synegubov, the attacks involved a range of weapons, including four missiles, 15 Geran-2 unmanned aerial vehicles, one FPV drone, and seven other drones. Civilian infrastructure was damaged in the strikes, and a total of 178 combat engagements were recorded across the region during the day.
Meanwhile, a transit evacuation centre in the city of Lozova received 96 people over the past 24 hours. As of now, 30 evacuees remain at the facility.
In southern Ukraine, energy infrastructure was also hit. In Odesa, overnight attacks damaged ten substations and a thermal power plant, according to the RT Telegram channel, citing local authorities. As a result, the city is expected to remain without electricity at least until December 15.
In addition, morning strikes damaged critical and industrial infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region, leaving several settlements without power.
Earlier, Russia’s Ministry of Defence stated that its strikes on targets in Ukraine are carried out in response to what it described as Kyiv’s attacks on civilian infrastructure inside the Russian Federation.
