Russian border boat flying Wagner PMC flag spotted on Narva River
On 2 November, a Russian border patrol boat displaying the flag of the private military company (PMC) Wagner was observed on the Narva River, Estonian authorities reported.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna confirmed that his office possesses both photographic and video evidence of the vessel. According to Tsahkna, the boat’s appearance on the river raises questions about the intentions behind this display.
“We can only speculate whether the spirit of chef Prigozhin is still alive in Russia, the Wagner crew are once again trying to take Moscow or have they set their sights on St Petersburg this time?” the minister said.
Despite the unusual sighting, Tsahkna reassured the public that all activity on the Narva River remains under Estonian control.
