09 July 2024 20:14
A court in Moscow has ordered Yulia Navalnaya, the wife of late Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny, to be arrested in absentia.
The Basmanny District Court in Moscow accused Navalnaya of “participation in an extremist organization,” Caliber.Az reports citing Russian sources.
The Telegram channel of the capital's courts of general jurisdiction reported that Navalnaya will be detained for two months as soon as she re-enters Russian territory. She faces charges under part 2 of article 282.1 of the Russian Criminal Code.
"Yulia Borisovna has absconded from the bodies of preliminary investigation, in connection with which she is declared wanted," the court statement said.
