Russian drone and shelling attacks kill civilians in Chernihiv and Kherson video

Russian attacks on several Ukrainian regions on December 25 left civilians dead and injured, according to local and regional authorities, with residential buildings and commercial infrastructure among the targets.

In northern Ukraine, a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle struck a multi-storey residential building in the Chernihiv region.

The head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, reported that the attack took place in the city of Chernihiv. As a result of the drone strike, one person was killed, and five others were injured, including a child. Emergency services responded to the scene to assist the victims and assess the damage.

Separately, Russian forces carried out heavy shelling of the central part of Kherson around midday. According to the regional military administration, the strikes hit the city’s commercial infrastructure, destroying trading stalls at the central market.

In an official statement, the administration said that “around midday, the occupiers cynically struck the market, where people were preparing for the holiday.” The shelling destroyed multiple торговые points and claimed the life of a 47-year-old market worker who was at his workplace at the time of the attack.

Emergency and municipal services are continuing to work in the affected areas as authorities assess the consequences of the strikes and provide assistance to those affected.
