Russian drone attack leaves 1 dead, several wounded in Ukraine’s Chernihiv PHOTO

Russian overnight drone attack in Ukraine’s northern Chernihiv region has left one person dead and four others injured, local officials say.

Russian forces struck the town of Novhorod-Siverskyi with Iranian-designed “Geran” drones while residents were asleep, head of the regional military administration, Viacheslav Chaus has said.

A 71-year-old man was killed in the attack. Four others — two men and two elderly women — were injured and taken to the hospital. Several residential buildings were damaged, with some reportedly destroyed completely.

Officials also reported further strikes throughout the day in the town of Semenivka, where homes and power lines were damaged.

In a separate incident, a drone attack sparked a fire in a residential house in a village within the Snovsk community. Meanwhile, in another village in the Mena community, a drone explosion caused a fire at a school building, which was not in operation at the time of the strike.

Authorities said that over the past 24 hours, the region recorded 29 shelling incidents and 34 explosions.
