Russian drone attacks disrupt power, injure civilians in Ukraine’s Chernihiv PHOTO
The Chernihiv region, Ukraine, has endured a series of intense attacks over the past 24 hours, with Russian forces primarily targeting energy infrastructure, regional authorities announced.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, noted that strike drones identified as “Geran” were used against multiple communities, including Kholmynska, Novhorod-Siversky, Menska, and Koriukivka.
As a result, approximately one hundred settlements were left without electricity. The most critical situation is reported in the northern parts of the region, where energy workers are operating in emergency conditions to restore power supplies.
In the town of Mena, a “Geran” drone struck an industrial facility, triggering a fire. Another attack targeted the House of Culture in Snovsk, causing significant damage to the building’s roof, windows, and doors, as well as to a gym where children had been training. A 45-year-old woman sustained injuries in the strike and is currently under medical supervision.
Overall, authorities recorded 48 separate shelling incidents and 91 explosions across the region during the past day, underscoring the scale and intensity of the attacks.
