Russian drone strike kills lorry driver in Kharkiv region

A Russian drone struck a lorry in the Kharkiv district on May 21, killing at least one person, Ukrainian officials have said.

The Governor of Kharkiv Oblast, Oleh Syniehubov, said the vehicle was hit by a Russian unmanned aerial strike in the district surrounding the north-eastern city of Kharkiv.

“In the Kharkiv district, Russian forces struck a freight lorry. As a result of the enemy drone strike, one person was killed,” Syniehubov said.

He added that emergency services from Ukraine’s State Emergency Service were deployed to the scene and were working to extinguish a fire that broke out following the impact.
