Russian drones ignite fires across Chernihiv region PHOTO
Russian forces have continued their attacks on Ukraine’s Chernihiv Region, using drones that triggered multiple fires across the area, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The agency said that over the past 24 hours, the region came under renewed strikes, with fires breaking out at several locations following UAV impacts.
During the night, drones targeted two agricultural enterprises in a settlement in the Novhorod-Siverskyi District. The strikes set fire to warehouse facilities used for grain storage. Emergency responders, working together with local fire crews, were able to quickly bring the blaze under control.
In a separate incident in the Chernihiv District, in one of the settlements of the Horodnia community, drone strikes hit a private residential area. As a result, residential houses and outbuildings caught fire.
Emergency operations in that area were complicated by the ongoing threat of repeated strikes. Rescue teams were forced to suspend their work multiple times and withdraw personnel to safer locations before resuming firefighting efforts.
According to preliminary information from the emergency service, no fatalities or injuries have been reported.
