Russian drones strike Ukraine's Poltava, damaging railway infrastructure PHOTO
On the night of October 6 to 7, Russian drones targeted the Poltava region, Ukraine, striking a railway depot and an energy facility in Poltava city.
According to Ukraine’s Minister for Recovery Oleksiy Kuleba, the attacks damaged the locomotive depot, power supply sections, traction substations, administrative and storage buildings, and rolling stock, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
Fires that broke out were promptly extinguished by emergency responders.
No casualties were reported.
The strikes also affected an energy facility, leaving more than 1,000 households in Poltava and surrounding settlements without power.
On the night of October 5 to 6, the Russian Armed Forces used 116 drones to carry out strikes, the Ukrainian side said. “The enemy attacked with 116 Shahed and Gerbera strike UAVs, as well as other types of drones,” the Ukrainian Air Force reported on Telegram, adding that the UAVs were launched from Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Gvardeyskoye in annexed Crimea.
