Russian, Indian leaders kick off informal talks amid high-level state visit
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have commenced an informal meeting at Modi’s official residence.
The leaders also shared an informal lunch as part of their engagement, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
President Putin is in India on a two-day state visit, the highest level of diplomatic protocol, which includes a series of official and ceremonial events. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet with senior Indian officials, lay a wreath at the Mahatma Gandhi memorial, and participate in the Russia-India Business Forum. In his honor, an official breakfast and a state reception will also be held.
Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov previously described the bilateral talks as the “key event” of Putin’s visit.
Throughout the state visit, the two leaders are expected to discuss a range of critical issues, spanning both bilateral relations and broader international developments, underscoring the strategic importance of Russia-India ties.
