Russian military aircraft crashes in Belgorod
The Russian Defence Ministry has provided details of the air crash in the Valuysky city district of Belgorod Region.
The ministry said that the Russian Air Force's Su-25 crashed when it was returning to its base airfield after completing its combat mission.
The plane went down in a deserted place, but the pilot died, Kommersant reported.
The agency said that according to preliminary data, the crash was caused by a technical malfunction.
Earlier Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Russia's Belgorod Region, revealed that a Russian military aircraft crashed in the Valuysky district in the region.
"An investigation team and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are currently working on the spot. The reason for the incident is being investigated. The situation is under control," he wrote on Telegram.
