Russia's Baltic Fleet conducts drills to defend Kaliningrad's shores
The Russia's Baltic Fleet has completed tactical exercises with its "Bal" and "Bastion" coastal missile systems to test their ability to secure the maritime borders and protect the Kaliningrad region coastline.
The drills saw the participation of approximately ten surface ships from the fleet, operating at sea, alongside aviation units, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
During the exercises, missile forces conducted a series of operations to deploy coastal defence systems "Bal" and "Bastion" in strategic positions. These drills were designed to counter potential threats from enemy surface ships, ensuring the protection of Kaliningrad's coastline and maritime borders.
The simulated adversary in the exercise was a task force of combat vessels from the Baltic Fleet, which is currently conducting training missions at sea.
These ships were tasked with launching missile and artillery strikes against the fleet’s vessels and coastal positions while executing an amphibious assault to capture part of the coastline and advance deeper into Kaliningrad.
After receiving target instructions, the combat crews carried out group electronic launches from the "Bal" and "Bastion" missile systems against a squadron of enemy ships. According to objective control data, the missile operators' actions were prompt and accurate, with more than 10 assigned naval targets being "destroyed".
