An officer in Armenia's Ministry of Defence is facing charges of embezzling military property worth 2 million drams (around $5,000).
The Anti-Corruption Committee revealed that T.M., the commander of a military unit, is alleged to have embezzled and sold duralumin engine parts from armoured vehicles last year, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
His subordinates, G.D. and K.A., are also implicated in the scheme, as they assisted in purchasing the stolen parts from the warehouse.
The three individuals have been formally charged, and a portion of the stolen property has been recovered.
The preliminary investigation into the case has been completed, and the matter has been referred to court for further proceedings.
