Envoy: US-Armenia ties "stronger than ever" over past year
On December 29, US-Armenia relations have strengthened over the past year, the United States ambassador to Armenia said as she extended holiday greetings to the Armenian people.
As Armenia prepares to welcome 2026, Ambassador Kristina Kvien sent warm wishes for a New Year, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
“Over the past year, US-Armenia ties grew stronger than ever since Armenia’s independence. Here’s to continued partnership, progress, and peace in the year ahead. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!” Kvien noted.
The most visible development in 2025 was the US‑brokered peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
On August 8, US President Donald Trump hosted Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the White House, where the leaders signed a peace “roadmap.”
This agreement aims to end decades of conflict, open commercial and diplomatic ties, and establish a multimodal transit corridor connecting Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan exclave — dubbed the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP).
