Russian Defenсe Ministry reports destruction of seven Storm Shadow missiles Over the past week
Russian air defence systems destroyed seven Storm Shadow cruise missiles launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the past week, Russia’s Ministry of Defence said on December 26.
According to the ministry, air defence units also shot down 21 guided aerial bombs, eight projectiles fired from the US-manufactured HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system, one long-range Neptune guided missile, four jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles, and 1,350 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles during the same period.
The Defence Ministry also provided details of air defence activity overnight on December 26. It said that on-duty air defence systems intercepted and destroyed a total of 77 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles over Russian territory during the night.
Of these, 34 drones were shot down over the Volgograd Region and 23 over the Rostov Region. Five UAVs were destroyed over the Kaluga Region, and another five over the territory of Crimea, which Russia occupies.
In addition, three drones were neutralised over the Moscow Region, including one that was flying toward Moscow. Two UAVs were downed over the Belgorod Region, and one was destroyed over the Voronezh Region.
The ministry further reported that three unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted over the Black Sea and one over the Sea of Azov.
