Passenger dies mid-flight, Lufthansa plane makes emergency landing in Almaty

A Lufthansa flight from Munich to Beijing made an emergency landing in Almaty after a passenger fell ill and died on board, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan said.

According to the administration’s press service, on December 26, a passenger on Lufthansa flight LH 0722 lost consciousness during the Munich–Beijing flight, prompting the crew to make an emergency landing at Almaty International Airport, Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.

“Medical teams from the airport and the city ambulance service were dispatched immediately,” the statement added.

Upon arrival, medical personnel confirmed that the passenger had died in flight. The aircraft was refuelled in Almaty and departed for its destination.
