Armenia yet to determine cost of “Crossroads of Peace” initiative
Armenian authorities have not yet determined the cost of implementing the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, as key parameters of the project remain under review.
Armenia’s Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure said in response to inquiries from Armenian media that detailed studies are still underway, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
The government was asked to provide details on projected cargo volumes in the initial phase and subsequent stages, the readiness of existing infrastructure, the most expensive construction components—including roads, railways, and logistics hubs—as well as plans to introduce digital transport corridors and modern cargo control systems.
The ministry said these issues are currently under examination, adding that technical and economic feasibility studies and assessments for road and railway construction are underway. It noted that the results are expected to be presented in the first quarter of 2026.
The initiative also plans to repair and build more than 1,100 kilometres of roads and restore railway tracks.
