Ankara, Yerevan simplify visa rules for official passport holders
Türkiye and Armenia have agreed to streamline the visa process for holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports, marking a further step in the ongoing normalization of bilateral relations.
The agreement was reached by special representatives responsible for advancing ties between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia confirmed the update. Under the new arrangement, starting January 1, 2026, eligible passport holders from both nations will be able to obtain electronic visas (e-visas) free of charge.
The ministry emphasized that the move reflects a shared commitment to continue the normalization process without imposing any preconditions.
This initiative aims to facilitate official travel and diplomatic engagement, reinforcing the broader efforts to strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding between Ankara and Yerevan.
