Moscow under drone attack: Over 60 Ukraine drones downed, one dead

11 March 2025 09:23

The total number of destroyed Ukrainian drones flying over Russia’s capital Moscow has reached 69, said mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin.

“The Defense Ministry's air defense forces have currently shot down 69 enemy drones flying towards Moscow. The relevant services are working on the spot,” he wrote in his Telegram channel, Caliber.Az reports.

Earlier, Sobyanin said that the roof of a house on Domodedovskaya Street in Moscow was slightly damaged as a result of falling debris from one of the drones.

Moscow Region Governor Alexander Vorobyov said that one person was killed and three injured in Moscow Region as a result of a UAV attack.

Russian media also reported that trains stopped running through the Domodedovo railroad station because of damage to the roadbed caused by UAV debris.

Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports temporarily restricted the acceptance and release of flights.

Temporary restrictions have also been introduced at Moscow's Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports on the reception and release of aircraft, according to Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia).

“To ensure the safety of civil aircraft flights, temporary restrictions on the reception and release of aircraft at 04:40 have also been introduced at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport. Moscow airport Vnukovo is also temporarily closed for the reception and release of aircraft,” Rosaviatsia added.
