Azerbaijan, Georgia deepen cooperation on key regional issues during high-level meeting

During her official visit to Georgia, Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Sahiba Gafarova and Chairman of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili have focused on bilateral cooperation and regional security. 

The sides expressed mutual appreciation for each other's support of their sovereignty and territorial integrity and underscored the continued strategic partnership between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

Papuashvili thanked Azerbaijan for its steadfast backing of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, while reaffirming Tbilisi's unwavering support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. 

The discussions also highlighted the strong, friendly ties and strategic partnership that have enabled both nations to pursue significant energy and transport projects.

These joint initiatives not only serve the interests of both countries but also contribute to the overall stability and development of the South Caucasus region. Both leaders agreed on the importance of further strengthening inter-parliamentary relations and committed to signing a memorandum of cooperation. 

Gafarova also extended an invitation to Papuashvili for an official visit to Azerbaijan. The visit concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Parliaments of Azerbaijan and Georgia. The document, signed by Speakers Sahiba Gafarova and Shalva Papuashvili, is set to deepen bilateral relations and broaden collaboration between the legislative bodies of the two nations.
