Spain equals Italy's record 37-match unbeaten run

Spain's national football team has equalled Italy's record for the longest unbeaten streak in official international matches after defeating France 2-0 in the semifinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The victory marked Spain's 37th consecutive official match without defeat, matching the record previously set by Italy, according to RBC.

Spain's last defeat came on March 22, 2024, when they lost 1-0 to Colombia in an international friendly.

Italy's 37-match unbeaten run was achieved between 2018 and 2021.

Spain will have the opportunity to set a new record when they play in the World Cup final on July 19. Their opponents will be the winners of the second semifinal between England and Argentina, scheduled for July 15.
