US, Iran trade regional fire for seventh consecutive night
The United States Armed Forces have concluded a fresh series of military strikes against targets inside Iran, marking the seventh consecutive night of such operations, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced.
According to the command, the operation lasted over five hours and targeted Iranian surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage facilities, and maritime assets. CENTCOM emphasised that its naval blockade of Iran remains active and that over 50,000 American service members are currently deployed in the Middle East, ready to execute combat missions.
In retaliation, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it had struck a U.S. headquarters building, ammunition depots, and communication nodes at the Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait. The semi-official Fars news agency reported that the U.S. base at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait was also hit. In an official statement, the IRGC warned regional neighbours, noting that states providing their territory for American operations against Iran "must be prepared for retaliatory measures and take civil defence actions to protect the population and prepare for a possible evacuation from areas that could be subjected to strikes."
The IRGC further reported striking fuel reservoirs utilised by American forces at the Al-Azraq base in Jordan. Iranian state media added that U.S. facilities in Bahrain were also attacked. Additionally, a rocket strike targeted a U.S. military base in Saudi Arabia, which sources claim is the first Iranian attack on Saudi territory in four months.
