Pakistan appoints first envoy to Armenia after establishing diplomatic ties

Ambassador Shavqat Ali Khan presented his credentials to Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan during a meeting in Yerevan, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media. 

The two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest and prospects for expanding cooperation, according to Armenian officials.

Before the ties were formalised, Pakistan had been the only country in the world that did not recognise Armenia.
