Kyrgyz Embassy in Russia probes fate of nationals after Wildberries warehouse fire
Officials from the Kyrgyz Embassy in Russia are working at the scene of a fire at a Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal, near Moscow, as they seek to determine whether any of their nationals were affected.
The diplomatic mission said on July 18 that its staff had met with Kyrgyz citizens employed at the facility and were gathering information on potential casualties, according to local media.
The embassy said those affected were receiving necessary consular and legal assistance.
According to the mission, the fire has not yet been fully extinguished, and the warehouse complex remains cordoned off, with emergency responders continuing operations at the site. Personnel from Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry, fire and rescue services, and other relevant agencies are involved in the response.
Authorities said further updates would be provided as confirmed information becomes available.
Earlier reports indicated that the blaze at the logistics complex followed a drone attack. The circumstances of the incident could not be independently verified.
As per the latest data, seven were killed, and 25 were injured as a result of the attack.
