Magnitude 5 earthquake strikes Türkiye’s Malatya province

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck the Battalgazi district of Türkiye’s Malatya province early on July 18, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The earthquake occurred at 6:20 a.m. local time, with its epicentre at a depth of 15.59 kilometres, AFAD said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Tremors were felt in the neighbouring provinces of Elazığ, Adıyaman, Tunceli and Şanlıurfa.
Malatya Governor Seddar Yavuz said emergency services were surveying the area. AFAD and local authorities said there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
