Poll shows strong public backing for Kazakh president
Public confidence in Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has reached 86.9%, says a new survey conducted by the Kazakhstan Institute for Public Development (KIPD).
The findings point to strong public trust in the country's leadership and state institutions ahead of elections to the Kurultai, People's Council of Kazakhstan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
According to the survey, 84.1% of respondents described the socio-political situation in Kazakhstan as stable or favorable, a notable increase from 70.4% recorded in the first quarter of the year.
The poll also found that 85.8% of respondents expressed satisfaction with their lives, while 50.5% said their financial situation had improved over the past 12 months.
Among young adults aged 18 to 28, confidence was particularly high. Some 87.1% described the country's current situation as stable, while 65.6% said they expect their personal circumstances to improve over the next year.
A separate KIPD survey examining political attitudes found broad willingness to participate in the upcoming Kurultai elections. Overall, 75.1% of respondents said they intended to take part in the vote, with 37.6% saying they were certain to cast a ballot and a further 37.5% indicating they were likely to participate.
KIPD said the research was based on surveys of 2,400 respondents in the first quarter and 1,200 respondents in the second quarter. According to the institute, the results reflect a high level of public confidence in Kazakhstan's state institutions in the run-up to the Kurultai elections.
