Türkiye detains 119 suspects over alleged ISIS links
Turkish authorities have detained 119 people suspected of links to Islamic State in coordinated counter-terrorism operations spanning 30 provinces, the Interior Ministry said.
The raids were conducted under the coordination of the Counter-Terrorism Department of the Gendarmerie General Command and the offices of chief public prosecutors, according to state broadcaster TRT Haber. Units from provincial gendarmerie commands carried out arrests at pre-identified locations.
Investigators allege that the suspects were involved in disseminating Islamic State propaganda on social media, participating in the group’s activities, and providing financial support through intermediaries and so-called charitable foundations.
The Interior Ministry said security forces would continue their efforts against both the group’s operational activities and its funding networks.
