Ukraine opens access to military technology to boost weapon production
The Ukrainian authorities have opened access to military technologies owned by the state, the country's Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin said.
"Access to military technologies owned by the state has been opened. The government supported the resolution regulating the rules for the transfer of design documentation for Ukrainian weapons to various business entities to scale up production," he wrote on his Telegram channel, per Caliber.Az.
The minister said if a state customer in the field of defense procurement plans to purchase weapons in a volume exceeding the capabilities of state enterprises for their production, then, at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense, the design documentation for this type of weapon "must be transferred to another manufacturer/manufacturers who can master its production." This includes private manufacturers, Smetanin emphasized.
"Of course, the resolution also regulates the issue of preserving state secrets and protecting intellectual property rights," the minister emphasized.
Smetanin noted that the innovation will help to a greater extent meet the needs of the defense forces for weapons and military equipment. As a result, manufacturers will be able to win more contracts and produce more military goods.
