Russian military ship spotted by US Coast Guard near Alaska

A Russian military vessel was observed by a US Coast Guard cutter during a routine patrol near Alaska's Aleutian Islands.

The ship was detected about 30 miles southeast of Amukta Pass, within the US Exclusive Economic Zone but in international waters, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

The US Coast Guard Cutter Alex Haley, along with a helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak, tracked the vessel as it moved east, though there was no direct communication with the Russian ship.

This incident follows recent similar events, including sightings of Chinese military ships and joint Russian and Chinese bombers in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone.
