Russian forces carried out a strike overnight on January 19, targeting an energy facility operated by DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private energy investor, in the southern port city of Odesa.
The attack left around 30,800 households without electricity, the company confirmed in a statement.
DTEK reported significant damage to the facility, warning that repairs will take an extended period to fully restore operations.
Teams are already on-site, clearing debris before commencing restoration work.
The strike adds to a series of attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure amid ongoing hostilities in the region.
