Russian strikes heavily damage energy infrastructure in Odesa region

Energy infrastructure in Ukraine’s Odesa region sustained heavy damage overnight following a series of explosions, according to local power grid operator DTEK Odesa Power Grids.

The regional utility announced the incident on its official Telegram channel on Saturday, August 22, confirming that multiple key facilities were struck during the overnight attack.

"Overnight, several energy facilities belonging to DTEK Odesa Power Grids were damaged," the company stated, adding that "the damage is significant and will require time to restore."
