Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia leave 16 wounded, damage homes PHOTO
Over the past 24 hours, 16 people were injured in attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Volnyansk, as Russian forces carried out 642 strikes across 26 settlements in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, damaging residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, said on Telegram that Russian forces conducted 13 airstrikes targeting Zaporizhzhia, Volnyansk, Ternovka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Ternovate, Kosovtseve, Rozhdestvenka, and Verkhny Tersa, per Caliber.Az.
Additionally, 407 drone strikes, mainly using FPV drones, hit locations including Zaporizhzhia, Kushuhum, Chervonodniprovka, Bilenke, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Huliaipole, Novoandreivka, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, and other settlements.
Authorities also reported four rocket artillery strikes on Stepove, Mala Tokmachka, Belohirya, and Dobropillia, along with 218 artillery shellings across the region. In total, 130 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and civil infrastructure were recorded.
Separately, on the night of December 8 to 9, Russian forces targeted a settlement in the Zaporizhzhia district with a drone strike on a civil infrastructure facility. The blast damaged a fire-rescue station, shattering windows and doors and damaging the roof. At the time of the attack, personnel were responding to a fire in a nearby village, and no firefighters were injured.
