Russian tourists detained in Afghanistan after fatal road accident

A traffic accident involving a convoy of Russian tourists in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province has left one person dead.

Sources told Hasht-e Subh Daily on September 24 that the incident took place on the Kashm–Faizabad highway when one of the vehicles travelling with the Russian tourists collided with a motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider was killed in the crash, according to the sources.

They also reported that the Taliban detained four foreign tourists, including a woman, along with two interpreters following the incident. No additional information has been provided about the condition of the detained individuals.
