Russian warships arrive in Vietnamese port of Cam Ranh
A detachment of warships of Russia's Pacific Fleet has arrived on a business visit to the international port of Cam Ranh in the central Vietnamese province of Khanh Hoa.
The squadron includes the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleyev and the medium sea tanker Pechenga, TASS reports.
The Russian ships were greeted by Russian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Timur Sadykov and members of the military attaché's office at the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.
The consul general called Cam Ranh a very important port for Russia. He noted that for more than 20 years this port "faithfully and loyally" served as a logistics point for the Talnakh Concentrator's ships, and it was there that the traditions of combat brotherhood and friendship between the peoples of the USSR and Vietnam were established.
