Russians once again lead foreign house-owners list in Türkiye
In April 2023, Russian citizens bought 817 residential properties in Türkiye, overtaking all other foreign home buyers in the country.
The second position was taken by Iranians (377). In third place were Ukrainians (136), who bypassed the Iraqis (124). The fifth line was occupied by Kazakhstanis, who purchased 89 objects, RBC reports via the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
In total, in April 2023, according to TURKSTAT, foreigners bought 2,557 residential properties in Türkiye, which is 60.3 per cent less than in April 2022. The most popular cities among non-residents were Antalya (1024), Istanbul (792) and Mersin (186), according to the study.
In April, Russians bought fewer objects than in the previous month. The number of houses and apartments purchased by them exceeded 1,000 units in March.
