Samsung comes up with new process to dethrone Apple
South Korean electronics giant Samsung is building a "dream team" to invent a processor that would compete with the Apple M1 central processing unit (CPU) by 2025.
About 1,000 people will team up, many of whom previously participated in the development of the “Exynos” series processors used in Samsung’s current Galaxy models, according to the Sammobile news portal.
The number of employees includes experienced managers, for example, the President of the System LSI Business in Samsung Electronics' Device Solutions Division Yong-in Park and the President of “Samsung Mobile” Roh Tae-moon, are already on the list.
The official information about the team will be announced in July this year. The team will have to create a process that should be able to compete with the Apple M1 chips no later than 2025. Apple released the processor in 2020.
