The pattern suggests B-2 bombers may have used 30,000-lb GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator bunker-buster bombs… pic.twitter.com/JIkN4q53jQ
Analysts say the pattern of destruction suggests the strikes may have targeted a hardened underground structure.
The damage has led to speculation that Northrop B‑2 Spirit stealth bombers could have deployed the 30,000-pound GBU‑57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), a bunker-busting bomb designed to penetrate deeply buried and reinforced facilities.
However, the exact type of weapon used in the strike has not been officially confirmed.
