Saudi air defences intercept six Houthi ballistic missiles

Saudi Arabia’s air defences intercepted and destroyed six ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Houthi movement, thwarting an attempted attack on the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu, the spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition Turki al-Maliki stated.

“Air defenses intercepted and destroyed six ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi terrorist militia,” Maliki said in a statement, Anadolu Agency reports.

He said the interceptions foiled an attempt to target Taif and Yanbu in western Saudi Arabia.

“The escalation and violations of the Houthi terrorist militia will be dealt with firmly,” Maliki warned.

He did not immediately provide details on whether the interceptions caused any damage or casualties.
