Saudi Arabia blames Iran for UAE tanker attack in Strait of Hormuz

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia has condemned an attack on a United Arab Emirates-flagged tanker transiting the Strait of Hormuz, holding Iran responsible for the broader consequences of assaults on maritime shipping.

In a statement, the ministry said that Iran’s continued attacks violate international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions that guarantee the freedom and security of navigation.

Saudi Arabia urged Tehran to immediately halt such actions to safeguard regional security and stability.
