Saudi Arabia condemns Israeli statements on Palestinian displacement
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned recent statements by Israel regarding the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns in the strongest possible terms the repeated statements by the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation government regarding the displacement of Palestinians from their land, including through the Rafah crossing, and the continued use of blockade and starvation to impose forced displacement,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement on September 5, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
The statement emphasised Saudi Arabia’s full support for Egypt in this regard and called on the international community, particularly the permanent members of the UN Security Council, to act against “Israel’s aggressive policies against the Palestinian people and their land” and to hold Israeli authorities accountable for “the crimes of genocide and grave violations against civilians.”
In August, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a military takeover of Gaza. The subsequent offensive in Gaza City, coupled with evacuation orders for residents, has intensified the mass displacement of Palestinians and drawn widespread international criticism.
