Saudi Arabia lodges protest note to Iraq over cross-border attacks

The Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia has delivered a formal protest note to Iraq’s ambassador Safia Taleb Al Souhail on April 12 over attacks launched from Iraqi territory, the ministry said in a statement on X.

The note was handed over by Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Saud bin Mohammed Al-Sati and condemned attacks and threats affecting the kingdom and other Gulf states.

The statement also stressed the need for Iraq to take responsibility for preventing such threats and attacks, and to reaffirm its commitment to respecting the sovereignty of states and avoiding actions that could destabilise the region.
