Saudi Arabia warns of escalation, condemns Iran-linked embassy attack
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that repeated attacks on the kingdom’s territory will further escalate regional tensions.
In an official statement, Riyadh expressed strong disapproval of the attack on the US embassy in Riyadh, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Khabar Fouri Telegram channel.
The ministry also emphasised that “tensions are escalating due to Iran’s actions, despite the kingdom making it clear that it will not allow its airspace or territory to be used for attacks against Iran.”
The US Embassy in Riyadh was struck by two drones early on March 3, 2026, causing a small fire and minor material damage, according to Saudi defence authorities and embassy statements.
This attack occurred as part of a broader wave of Iranian missile and drone strikes targeting US diplomatic missions, bases and Gulf allies in retaliation for recent US‑Israeli airstrikes on Iran.
