Saudi-backed forces advance toward Yemen’s Marib as fears of new conflict grow VIDEO
The situation in Yemen has escalated once again amid reports of military movements in the country's central regions, raising concerns over a possible resumption of large-scale fighting between rival factions.
Armed formations backed by Saudi Arabia have begun moving from the Al-Abr area toward the strategically important province of Marib, Caliber.Az reports, citing Telegram page NAYA.
Columns of military vehicles and personnel are reportedly advancing toward the region.
Local sources and military observers have not ruled out the possibility of imminent clashes between pro-Saudi forces and Houthi fighters, also known as Ansar Allah.
Marib province, which holds significant energy resources, has remained one of Yemen's main flashpoints for years.
The latest troop movements risk upsetting the fragile balance of power that has persisted in the region.
