Saudi crown prince urges Trump to keep striking Iran

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, has called on US President Donald Trump to “continue to strike hard against Iran,” The New York Times reports, citing unnamed White House officials.

"The advice Mr. Trump is getting from the prince is to keep hitting the Iranians hard — essentially repeating the advice that King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, who died in 2015, repeatedly gave to Washington: 'Cut off the head of the snake,'" the officials say.

They said Trump is talking regularly to Arab leaders, particularly Mohammed bin Salman.

The Crown Prince reportedly urged President Trump to continue a strong attack on Iran, echoing advice from the late King Abdullah, who died in 2015: “Cut off the snake’s head.”
