Saudi FM, Rubio focus on Hormuz stability, Lebanon truce in phone call
Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, held a phone call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss regional developments, including efforts to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and reinforce the ceasefire in Lebanon, the Saudi foreign ministry said.
In a post on X, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said the two officials reviewed “ongoing efforts to ensure the Strait of Hormuz remains open” and stressed the importance of maintaining regional maritime security.

According to the ministry, both sides also discussed the situation in Lebanon, where they “emphasised the need to consolidate the ceasefire” and prevent further escalation.
The call further highlighted the importance of dialogue and diplomatic engagement as the preferred path to achieving stability and security across the wider region.
