SCO countries to create investment projects database
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) has stated that the member states will establish a database of industrial investment projects, a decision made at the 4th meeting of SCO industry ministers held in Cholpon-Ata on June 5 under Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship.
Participants discussed cooperation in economics and industrial production, including the introduction of innovative solutions, the development of environmentally sustainable systems, and the digitalisation of enterprises, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
The sides stressed the importance of deepening multilateral cooperation and effectively using the technological potential of member states.
At the end of the meeting, the regulation on the “Database of Industrial Investment Projects of SCO Member States” was approved, along with a joint communiqué.
Kyrgyz Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov said the database will serve as a centralised system for storing and collecting investment proposals.
“The SCO is a large organisation; each country, including the private sector, has investment projects. To ensure accessibility and visibility, an initiative has been put forward to create a unified database,” he noted.
