SCO summit 2025: Major decisions and documents to be approved in China
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Council meeting is scheduled in late August - early September in China, said SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev.
He recalled that China will chair the SCO in 2025. The summit is traditionally held in the country that is completing its chairmanship, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
It is expected that important decisions will be made at the meeting, important documents will be signed and approved. Currently, intense and active work is underway to prepare for the event.
Whether the summit will be held in person or remotely depends on Chinese President Xi Jinping, while it is currently expected to be held in person.
Notably, the SCO is an international organization created in 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. India, Pakistan, Belarus and Iran later joined the organization.
