14 June 2025 13:56
Prior to launching retaliatory strikes against Israel, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council held a high-level meeting on the evening of June 13, during which the decision to proceed with a military response was finalised.
The session, chaired by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, took place approximately one hour before the first wave of Iranian attacks and focused on advancing the country's response strategy to Israeli airstrikes, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
Officials reviewed previously outlined plans and emphasised the need for a sustained and coordinated approach to future threats. Internal preparations and operational measures were also finalised during the meeting.
