Security tightened at Bishkek’s Manas Airport following terror threat
Security measures have been reinforced at Manas International Airport in Bishkek after authorities received information about a possible terrorist threat, the press service of Airports of Kyrgyzstan OJSC announced.
Russian media reported that, according to the company, which manages all major airports across the republic, additional control measures were promptly introduced at Manas Airport to prevent any potential security incidents.
“Security measures have been strengthened at Manas International Airport following the received information about a terrorist threat,” the company’s spokeswoman said. She noted that aviation security officers are conducting a detailed inspection of both the airport terminal and the surrounding area.
The press service underlined that all measures are being taken to ensure the safety of passengers and employees. “All control procedures have been enhanced. The inspection is being carried out as efficiently as possible without disrupting airport operations,” the company stated.
Despite the heightened security checks, Manas Airport continues to function normally. Additional personnel have been deployed to strengthen control and maintain public order.
